The Wildflower Experience!

After a 7-year hiatus due to droughts and the pandemic, the Wildflower Experience / Triathlon made an epic comeback at Lake San Antonio in Bradley, California! Central Coast Bicycles had an expo booth along the finish line, situated next to K-Man Cyclery, The Bike Sherpa, and Happier Camper, who were fantastic neighbors during the 3-day festival! Each day showcased different events, including a gravel (off-road) triathlon, open water swim, 5K, 10K & 20K trail runs, olympic distance and sprint triathlons, as well as a 70.3 (half-Ironman distance) event!

Standout Finishes

The highlight of the event was cheering for the competitors and chatting with people from across the country and Canada. Tim, Central Coast Bicycles co-owner, was excited to root for his graduate school alma mater, Oregon State University, which secured an overall victory in the men's collegiate Olympic-distance event. After the race, the OSU Beavers visited the tent for a photo! Although it might not be visible, several of the Beavers' race number belts featured beaver tails on the back. They must be aerodynamic?! 😂 Go Beavs! 🦫

Team Spirit

Another standout moment in the Olympic-distance collegiate event was the Cal Poly University Triathlon Team securing podium spots in both the men's and women's races! Overall, the collegiate teams were especially amazing in spreading positive encouragement to all participants! Completing the Wildflower Triathlon, regardless of the distance, is an impressive accomplishment, particularly given the challenging hilly course.

Onsite Camping

We're looking forward to returning to Wildflower next year! If you plan to attend, be sure to take advantage of the on-site camping and bring enough water for the weekend. Here are some additional tips: https://www.wildflowerexperience.com/festival/camping-travel/

Thanks again to everyone who stopped by to say "hi" at this year's event!
